Thank you so much for your ongoing support this year — we appreciate you more than you know.
Our last Thursday for sourdough orders will be 18 December, and we’ll be back up and running to bring you your weekly loaf from 15 January. If you miss ordering we will have a batch heading to The Village Berry on the 24th December.
We’ll be at the Farmers Market on 20 December if you’d like to stock up before the break, and back again from 10 January.

The love of baking…
This journey started right back from when I was a child. My mum used to bake bread for our family almost everyday.
That warm fresh bread smell - straight out the oven has never left me. The love of bread has evolved into sourdough. Early on in 2024, a friend of mine gave me a spoonful of her starter and I was hooked!
What is Sourdough?
Sourdough is an ancient and artisanal method of bread-making that uses a natural fermentation process to create flavorful, nutritious bread. Instead of relying on commercial yeast, sourdough is made with a "starter"—a simple mixture of flour and water teeming with wild yeast and beneficial bacteria.
During fermentation, this natural culture works its magic, breaking down the flour and creating a tangy, slightly sour flavor profile that makes sourdough so unique. The long fermentation also enhances the bread's texture, giving it a chewy crumb and a crispy, golden crust.
Not only does sourdough taste amazing, but it’s also easier to digest and may offer more nutrients compared to other breads. It’s a true celebration of simplicity, time, and tradition!
